"After a 20 year career in marketing and sales I reached one of those times in life when I decided, 'It’s time for a change.'
"I always enjoyed knives and had worked as a cook in my teens and 20's. I was continually dissatisfied with the handles on most knives. I knew that there was room for improvement, so I got a book on how to make custom knives, and Rhino Custom Knives was born.
"After my having made and sharpened knives happily for the public in my garage for 15 years, my new bride said to me, 'Mi amor, you know that more women would use your sharpening service and buy your knives if they didn't have to meet you in a garage off an alley.'
"After some thought and discussion with my wife, we decided to go 'house-hunting' for a small shop where I could continue to make knives, sharpen knives, scissors, and tools, and also sell quality manufactured culinary knives, all on the premises.
"We settled on a small shop in downtown Santa Monica, at 1207 4th Street, #150, to be the home of Westside Sharpening & Cutlery Center. After about a month of reworking the space, painting, and installing cabinets, we have a very comfortable showroom and a back workroom.
"Westside Sharpening & Cutlery Center opened its doors on Sept 3, 2011."

Sakai.Along with repairing tips and handles for all knives, Westside Sharpening & Cutlery Center can take care of all of your sharpening needs, including sharpening serrated knives.
